Next week will be a bit wonky with the holiday schedule. I won't get to skate at the Y on Sunday and the Promenade is closed on Monday so I won't have my lesson with Christopher either. I'll try to squeeze in some extra sessions at APEX to make up for lost time.
During our lesson, Christopher asked me for a recording of me doing a thing (either a field move or a program run-through) so he can critique it in lieu of our typical in person lesson. I'll have to get one of my unicorn sisters to record for me, I suppose. I had such a great run through this past Sunday and I really hope I can replicate it for a video. We'll see. Which brings me to...
The 27 Program Challenge - I counted how many weeks are left until CSI and then multiplied by 3 (which is how many times per week I skate) and came up with 27. I swear my math doesn't suck. Yes, it should be 30 but I'm giving myself some grace to miss a few days due to holidays and scheduled vacations. Anyway, 27 is a nice number. If I do more than 27, yay! But I don't want to feel bad for not reaching 30 just because life got in the way.
So, the "Road to CSI" starts now and I really want to be ready. Last year, even though I won Gold, it was not a comfortable win and I felt like I could have skated better with another few practices under my belt. I'm debuting a new program with strong, confident music and choreography. I can't skate passively. I need the judges and the audience to feel it.
Also, I'm representing a new club and I don't want them embarrassed to have me, lol.
