I skated the 6:15am freestyle at APEX this morning and besides my spins leaving me altogether, it wasn't the worst practice.
Moves - During my lesson with Christopher this past Monday, we decided to shoot for an August test date for Silver MIF. Inspired by one of my unicorn sisters who recently passed her Silver Moves, I'm just going to "put it out there" and see what happens. I'm not 100% confident that I'll pass (and, in fact, a lot of adults don't pass Silver MIF on the first try) but I've been working on this for 2 years now and I think it's at least at the point where I can try to test. I ran everything this morning and I had some control issues on the BO 3 turns and my forward Power Pulls were still wimpy. I was able to work a bit on getting my arms right on the 8 Step Mohawk and getting my feet closer together on the back cross strokes. If I really focus my energy on making this the best I can get it, I might have a shot in August.
Program - I only worked on sections today. My goal was "Flow." This is really important in the step sequence and coming out of it into the end of the program. I worked on the new ending that Christopher gave me and I think I get it. It's just really fast. The whole program is fast and well, I'm not. So, in addition to flow, I need speed. Speed and Flow.
In other news, US Figure Skating updated my member profile to show my new club affiliation so it's official now. It feels nice. I'm in the process of getting a new club jacket but they need at least 4 orders to take to the embroiderer so I might have to wait a bit. I liked my old RMFSC jacket, though. Too bad I'll never wear it again. It's now an artifact of a past life :)
